On July 10, 2026, Silverado submitted comments to the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative regarding the Operation of a Mechanism to Promote Reciprocal and Managed Trade with China.
Silverado recommended to USTR that that the Board of Trade be paired with a modern China-specific safeguard mechanism backed by robust monitoring of trade, production, capacity, and other related data. Our objective in proposing a restored China-specific safeguard is to ensure the United States is not again exposed to harmful import surges in goods benefiting from tariff modifications.
