Economic and Environmental Impacts of a U.S. Border Pollution Measure on Steel and Aluminum

This brief presents the results of a Silverado Policy Accelerator study on the economic and environmental impacts of a U.S. border pollution measure (BPM) on steel and aluminum (including unwrought and wrought aluminum). The BPMs covered in the study apply a fee to imports that are more emissions-intensive—more greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions per metric ton(mt) of product—than U.S. production.
