Data Dashboard: China Industrial Robot Industry Profile

China’s industrial robot production is rapidly growing and it is now the second largest global exporter of industrial robots, striking developments in an industry that is critical for industrial competitiveness, defense production, and the production of advanced technologies.

These are some of the key findings of Silverado’s new China Industrial Robot Industry Profile.

• Industrial robot production in China (by volume) increased more than 600 percent from 2016 to 2024. Industrial robot production is up more than 40 percent in the first eight months of 2025.
• China’s industrial robot exports increased by more than 400 percent (by value) from 2015 to 2024. Exports are up almost 60 percent in the first eight months of 2025.
• China was the second largest global exporter in 2024, accounting for 15 percent of exports, and only trailing Japan (22 percent of exports).
