About the Event

Silverado's Cofounder Dmitri Alperovitch, Vice President of Policy for Critical Supply Chains Mahnaz Khan, and Chief of Staff Marc Raimondi attended the 61st annual Munich Security Conference as well as the 11th Annual Munich Cybersecurity conference. As the conference began, Silverado hosted their Fourth Annual Reception recognizing the U.S. Delegation, attended by more than 100 U.S. and international leaders from government, industry and civil society. During the conference, Dmitri Alperovitch participated in the panel "Heavy Infiltrations: Typhoon Talk – Law Enforcement Reloaded" alongside other top experts. The discussion delved into the latest infiltration tactics employed by nation-state actors, the persistent challenges of attribution and prosecution, and how law enforcement is evolving in response. Parallel to the conference, Silverado hosted the 2nd Annual Silverado Policy Accelerator Tech Policy Lunch where leaders in tech policy discussed Europe's role in tech leadership, AI regulation as part of national security, cybersecurity and authoritarian threats, and public-private collaboration in combating cyber threats. As part of the conference, Silverado Policy Accelerator and Kearney hosted an engaging dinner discussion, “Rock Solid Allies: Uniting for Critical Mineral Security and Technology Superiority," where Silverado unveiled its third element of the Mineral Security Trade Policy Framework, The Mineral Trade Defense Pact. Attendees discussed how the Pact could be integrated into existing alliances, the policy-tools that should be employed to support it, and whether or not there is sufficient political will to support the Pact in the long-term. Overall, Silverado's presence at the 61st Annual Munich Security Conference helped facilitate important conversations about tech policy, critical minerals, and cybersecurity in the changing policy landscape.
