Celebrating Silverado Policy Accelerator's First Year
To Friends of Silverado Policy Accelerator,
Today marks the first anniversary of Silverado Policy Accelerator's public launch. One year ago, we founded Silverado with a vision to create a "policy accelerator" model that not only generates policy ideas but also cultivates, incubates, and accelerates novel policy solutions in our three policy pillars: cybersecurity, trade and industrial security, and Eco²Sec. Today, we look back on a busy year.
For a comprehensive overview of our first year, check out Silverado's "Year in Review," which includes a snapshot of our major accomplishments and milestones. A few highlights include:
- Building a Strategic Council of leaders and practitioners from an array of fields and industries, and hosting our first Strategic Council Meeting at the Salamander Resort in Middleburg, VA.
- Establishing our thought leadership through high-level events, such as a partnership with NBC News to conduct a Russia-Ukraine tabletop exercise that included our Strategic Council Co-Chair General David Petraeus.
- Forging institutional partnerships with major national policy organizations, including the National Security Institute, the Asia Society Policy Institute, and the Washington International Trade Association.
- Accelerating policy outcomes through policy advocacy, congressional testimony, coalitions, and extensive published writing and interviews with several major national and international media outlets, including The New York Times and Washington Post.
We thank you all for your continued support of Silverado's work. In particular, we would like to thank the members of Silverado's Strategic Council for their commitment to our mission and for the support that they gave given our team over the past year. Your counsel and strategic insights have been invaluable.
We look forward to the coming year, which will see growth in the organization and a further expansion of Silverado’s thought leadership and advocacy across all policy pillars. We are especially excited about our ongoing work in the following areas: enhancing U.S. competitiveness in the Global Chips Race; designing a Net-Zero Trade Policy to drive climate outcomes; enhancing our work to promote a Circular Economy, including for critical materials; implementing our 2022 U.S. Cyber Policy Priorities; and providing our perspectives and recommendations on Russia-Ukraine and broader U.S.-China great power competition issues. Our door is open for additional ideas and counsel.
Sincerely,
Dmitri Alperovitch and Maureen Hinman
