At the 4th Annual Silverado Summit, Co-Founder and Executive Chair Maureen Hinman delivered her annual keynote presentation, “A Look Toward the Future.”
The keynote examined the growing strategic challenges posed by China’s control over key industrial and technological chokepoints impacting the U.S. industrial and defense base. It explored the Chinese Communist Party’s innovation and industrial policy playbook, Beijing’s influence over global energy markets, and the expanding use of export controls and bans on critical minerals as tools of economic and geopolitical leverage.
The presentation also highlighted the accelerating global competition surrounding fusion energy, artificial intelligence, defense technologies, and military drone systems. It underscored how technological leadership and supply chain security are increasingly central to economic security and national defense.
Maureen once again delivered a timely and important discussion on the strategic landscape shaping the future of U.S. competitiveness and resilience.
