Silverado's Spring 2025 update on China's semiconductor manufacturing equipment imports.
- Key Report Findings:
China accounted for 42 percent of equipment spending in 2024, up from 34 percent in 2023. China is also projected to invest more in semiconductor manufacturing in each of the next two years than any other country. - In 2024, China imported a record amount of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, with imports totalling $49.2 billion, up 17% from 2023. The top sources of imports in 2024 were Japan, the Netherlands, Singapore, and the United States.
- Chinese firms are also producing more semiconductor manufacturing equipment domestically, with revenue steadily increasing over the last four years.
